Dr.
Lavine is
medical director of the National
Center for Hair Restoration.
He has been involved in hair transplantation and its evolution to
the state-of-the-art micro and mini-grafting - the only permanent
solution to male pattern baldness. His office has performed over
1,000 hair restoration procedures in a comfortable and relaxed
environment. Dr. Lavine's personal consultation includes an
evaluation of your stage of hair loss, as well as possible
non-surgical treatments, including the newer medications of
Propecia and Rogain. The goal of the Center is to provide clients
with their maximum hair potential. Included in the consultation,
will be an informed consent video, as well as a book of pre- and
post-operative results to demonstrate the advanced state of micro-
and mini-grafting, including the "No-Line Hairline."
The
National Center for Hair Restoration has been actively involved in
hair transplantation for the past decade. The Center utilizes
state-of-the-art techniques in mini and micro-grafting and has a
combined experience of over 1,000 cases. Dr. Lavine's hair
transplant assistants have specialized in this field for a number
of years and have many satisfied clients from all walks of life.
Remember
- the best hair transplants are the ones you don't notice.
There are
only two known medical treatments for hair loss. The first is Rogain,
which is a topical placed on the scalp. This must be applied daily
and principally works in the crown area of the scalp. Rogain can
be purchased over-the-counter at your drugstore. The other known
medical treatment, which is approved by the FDA, is Propecia.
This medication is taken every day and requires a prescription.
This has been shown to be effective in helping prevent future hair
loss in a large majority of patients. Unfortunately, both of these
medications, if effective, must be taken for the rest of your life
to continue its effectiveness. If you stop taking either
medication, you may lose the hair that you saved.

The
only known method for the permanent restoration of natural hair is
to use your own permanently-growing hair - the hair now growing on
the sides and back of your head is genetically programmed to grow
for a lifetime and is the ideal donor. Hair transplantation is a
permanent solution that requires no special maintenance. Once your
transplanted hair grows out, it can be treated just as you did
your original hair - cut it, comb it, wash it, style it any way
you like - because it is your own natural growing hair and will
continue to grow for your lifetime.
Hair
transplantation is the process of obtaining hair bearing grafts
from the donor fringe and relocating or transplanting them into
the balding areas. Improved harvesting methods and the
introduction of smaller grafts have afforded tremendous flexibility
in distributing natural hair more evenly over balding areas. These
smaller grafts are often referred to as mini-grafts,
micro-grafts
and single hair follicle grafts.
